Hi boxerbuddies! Finally, I find the time to send you some pics and an update on me! I'm sitting here with Mom, but I "take matters in my own paws" and type myself.... First of all: As you can see I have a new name - Monte. My parents told me the story of the "Count of Monte Christo" and we all agreed that I kinda spent my previous life in prison without having done anything bad, just as the guy in the story....I'm living a cool life now - busy though, let me tell ya! I get lots of exercises, mainly BALL playing (at least twice a day, my absolute favorite thing [:-)] , working at home with Dad (he says I inspire him, no clue what that means but seems to be something good) and gaining weight. Other things I really love are cuddling, getting a bath, riding in "my" car, watching TV (while getting a chest rub!) and with all that heat at the moment I learned to appreciate something they call "AC". It makes it nice and cool inside, I've spent more than enough time outside, been there, done that. What I really HATE are towing cars (Mom and Dad say everyone hates them but I can't stand their noises!), people who stop and talk to Mom out of their cars and most of all : WIND !! If you look at my pics you see that I don't have those floppy boxer ears some of you guys have, mine are more "Bat-Style". If it's stormy the wind goes right in and I get mad!! Once I go so mad that I turned to the direction the wind was coming from and barked at it ! I don't remember if it made a hell of a difference but I think I will do it again some time. On one of the pics you can see the world's longest tongue. Maybe we could start a competition here, I'm pretty sure that nobody of you guys out there can top mine! Mom and Dad always wonder "Where does he put that thing when his mouth is closed ?" Don't know what the heck they are talking about, it just goes in ....! As you can see in the pics I'm a muscular boy now and weigh in at 15 pounds more than when I adopted Mom and Dad. My favorite treat is anchovies, although nobody wants my kisses right after I have eaten one...those picky humans!! What else -- oh, I graduated from dog school. Considering my age (which only shows on the paper but boy, you should see me play with my toys....!!) this should encourage EVERYONE to adopt elder dogs just as much as the youngsters. One piece of advice for all boxer bro's and sis's out there: Make sure from the beginning on just where you want to sleep! To make a long story short (since my paws start to hurt from typing) : Mom and Dad almost worry when I prefer to sleep on my dog bed (rare occasions!!!!) rather than with them: "Do you think he is ok? Why is he sleeping down there?" You see, even humans can be educated -- at all ages !! Mom and Dad say we thank boxerbuddies for getting me here, thanks to the foster parents and to my volunteer person !! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrreetings Monte <gotta go play ball now, my paws are numb from all that typing......> And I also know some German: Every time Mom or Dad ask me "Wie spricht der Hund?" ( that means kinda "Talk to me" or "Show me how you talk" ) I bark once and immediately get the toy they are holding in their hands. You have to admit that is pretty impressive!!
